Alvin Roth is Craig and Susan McCaw Professor of Economics at Stanford University (and the Gund Professor of Economics and Business Administration Emeritus at Harvard. He has helped design markets through which American doctors get their first positions and school choice systems used in many American cities. Alvin is the co-winner of 2012 Nobel memorial prize in Economics for work on market design.
