5 things Africa's leaders can do to drive digital growth
Digital transformation should be the heart of African governments’ agenda. It’s time Africans became the creators, rather than consumers, of technology.
Amrote Abdella is Regional Director of Microsoft 4Afrika Initiatives. An example of this is Innovation 4Gov, a programme that helps deliver innovative public-sector services through digital support and co-funding. Prior to joining Microsoft, Amrote worked for, among others, the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, the Global Hunger project and the Grameen Foundation. In her experience she has focused on financial services, policy guidance and economic development for Africa. Amrote holds a B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College in North Carolina, and an M.A. in International Economics Development from Brandeis University in Massachusetts, USA.
