Aongus Hegarty

Aongus serves as President of Dell Technologies for International Markets. This is an organisation spanning over 170 countries comprising Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Greater China, and Latin and South America. He has overall responsibility for all revenue, customer relationships, and strategy in these markets. Aongus is supported by over 50,000 team members who help customers of all sizes on their digital transformation journey.

Aongus has over three decades of experience in the technology industry. He is a twenty-three-year veteran of Dell Technologies where he has held several president, vice president & general manager roles across the business. Aongus worked previously for Modus Media, RR Donnelley, and Digital Equipment Corporation in senior general management, operations, manufacturing, and business positions.

Aongus assumed his role as President of International Markets in 2020, leading all markets outside of the United States and Canada. Aongus is passionate about the role that digital transformation can play in driving growth and helping to solve complex societal challenges. Since taking up his role, he has been meeting with customers and discussing how new technologies can help organisations across the globe foster innovation in a digital economy, reshape the future of work, and advance sustainability.

Aongus is a respected commentator on business, innovation, leadership, digital transformation, sustainability, and diverse and inclusive workforces. He speaks frequently at major global conferences and events. The Economist Global Diversity List recognised Aongus as one of the Top 10 Diversity Champions, and, in 2021, the Irish Government appointed him as Co-Chair of the Balance for Better Business (B4BB) initiative to help increase participation by women on boards in listed and private companies. At Dell, Aongus co-leads the Global Women’s Network, is a member of the Global Diversity Council, chaired by Michael Dell, and co-leads the company’s Customer Advisory Boards.

Between 2017 to 2020 Aongus was Chair of the Executive Council for the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union - leading the strategy to ensure a growth-oriented business and investment climate in Europe for US companies. He is a member of the Special Olympics Ireland Council of Patrons as well as the Munster Rugby Commercial Advisory Board. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the University of Limerick, where he received the Alumni Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2013. In 2019 Aongus received a prestigious life fellowship from the Irish Management Institute (IMI), joining an illustrious list of IMI Fellows who are helping to transform the global business environment.
