Atsuyuki Kato is an assistant professor at Waseda University and a research associate at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI). His research expertise is in economic growth, productivity analysis, and trade and development. His research has been published in book chapters and RIETI discussion papers, as well as various publications including Journal of Productivity Analysis, Japan and the World Economy, Applied Economics, and Journal of International Trade and Economic Development. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Essex in 2007. Prior to joining Waseda University in April 2012, he was a research fellow at RIETI and a research associate at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). At RIETI, he served as the project leader of a research project entitled “Differentiated Services and Productivity.”
