Bertrand Gruss is an Economist in the Regional Studies Division of the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department, where he conducts research and analysis on Latin America and the Caribbean. He previously worked in the Fiscal Affairs Department and the European Department. Before joining the Fund he also worked at the Central Bank of Uruguay. His research focuses on international macroeconomics and finances, including topics related to macrofinancial linkages, commodity prices and the effects of sudden stops in capital flows.
