Countries are increasing holdings in foreign assets to protect the country's income and wealth.
Bianca De Paoli joined the International Research functionat the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in February 2012. Since finishing her PhD at the London School of Economics, Bianca has focus her research on the design of monetary policy in small open economies. Bianca has also written articles in macro-finance with the aim of understanding the asset pricing implications of traditional macroeconomic models. Currently, in light of the recent economic developments, her research interests are on macro-prudential policies that can work for individual countries as well as policies designed at the international level. Prior to joining the FRBNY, Bianca worked as a senior economist at the Bank of England.
