Carol Fung

President, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, JD Retail, JD.com

Carol Fung is Vice President of JD.com and President of JD Fast Moving Consumer Goods. She joined JD.com in 2014.

Under her leadership, JD Super (JD’s online supermarket) has become the largest supermarket in China, online or offline. JD Super is the top retailer for numerous categories, including infant formula and diapers, milk, beer and cooking oil. JD Super is also the top retailer for global brands including P&G, Nestlé, Mead Johnson and Merries, and the top online retailer for Coca Cola, Unilever and Kleenex, among others.

Ms. Fung is responsible for developing a supply chain innovation program with multiple offline channels, including supermarkets such as Walmart and Better Life, and other offline stores, to optimize cost efficiency for partners and improve the consumer shopping experience. She is also responsible for integrating big data-driven category management tools and developing multiple marketing innovations. She facilitated the strategic alliance between JD and Walmart.

Prior to joining JD, Ms. Fung was VP of Tencent e-commerce, leading the first successful integration between e-commerce and WeChat. Before that, she spent 12 years at Walmart China. In her role as VP of Walmart China, she managed multiple categories in the merchandising department, and helped Walmart China grow from nine stores to become China’s largest offline retailer.

Ms. Fung holds an MBA degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a bachelor’s degree from Sichuan University.
