I am a Senior Lecturer in Medical Ethics and Law at St George\'s, University of London. I have studied medicine, philosophy and medical education in the past and I have also completed a PhD in Law. My current research interests span global bioethics, political philosophy as applied to health and the use of novel e-Learning materials in the teaching and assessment of medical and healthcare ethics and law. I am a trustee of the Institute of Medical Ethics (IME) and I am also the Chair of the IME Research Committee and a member of the IME Education Committee. In addition, I am a member of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics Research Department and the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics International Forum of Teachers. Since 2010 I have been an ex officio member of the St George\'s Clinical Ethics Committee and since 2014 I have been a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. I am deeply committed to the idea that academics should engage with the public and I regularly give media interviews in English and Welsh.
