How do you talk to a young child about death?
Being honest and open with a child about death is important for their emotional development.
Carys Seeley is a PhD candidate in Developmental Psychology at the University of East Anglia. She is funded by a studentship from the School of Psychology, UEA. She was awarded an MSc with distinction in Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology at the University of St Andrews in 2016.
Her current research explores how parents talk to their children about death, how children understand death, and how the two compare. Her research interests lie in cultural transmission and how this shapes children’s developing concepts.
