Charles Anawo Ameh

Senior Clinical Lecturer, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

Charles has over 15 years experience in maternal and newborn health, undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and research in middle and low-income countries. He has a Masters in Public Health and PhD in maternal and newborn health from University of Liverpool, post-graduate fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the West African College of Surgeons.
Charles is on several peer review journal editorial boards and is a member of the WHO working group on maternal mortality and morbidity. He is currently Senior Clinical Lecturer, deputy Head Center for Maternal and Newborn health (a WHO collaboration centre) Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine
His main areas of interest are Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care, MNH quality improvement, Health Systems Strengthening that aim to get evidence into practice, through innovative context specific designs, evaluations and recommendations for improvement.
Specific country experience includes: Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Kenya, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Somaliland, Tanzania, United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.
