Connel Fullenkamp is Professor of the Practice and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Economics Department at Duke University. Prior to coming to Duke in 1999, Connel was a faculty member in the Finance Department of the College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Connel also does consulting work for the IMF Institute for Capacity Development at the International Monetary Fund, which consists of training government officials around the world.
Connel earned his BA in Economics from Michigan State University. In 1985, he was named a Truman Scholar. He earned his MA and PhD degrees in Economics at Harvard University, where he was also awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship. He has published articles on financial market development and regulation, the economic and policy implications of risk sharing, and the economic impacts of immigrant remittances.
