David Henderson is Group Chief Human Resources Officer for Zurich Insurance, a role he has held since joining the company in January 2017. At Zurich he has aligned and executed an HR strategy to support the transformation of the company, focused in delivering tangible improvements in employee experience and on aligning the capability, commitment and culture of the company to its strategic vision, purpose and values. David has held a number of global Human Resource leadership roles across manufacturing, consumer products and financial services industry sectors. He has lived and worked extensively in Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States during his career to date. David reports directly to Group CEO, Mario Greco and is a member of the Zurich Insurance Group Leadership Team.
Before joining Zurich, David held a number of executive roles at MetLife and PepsiCo from March 2012, David was Chief Talent Officer & EVP, Human Resources for Global Functions at MetLife, based in New York, with dual accountability for enterprise-wide talent management and HR leadership of all global functions. In addition, David was responsible for driving organizational effectiveness and the implementation of a new strategic operating model across the company. Prior to this, David was with PepsiCo for a total of 15 years serving latterly as Chief Talent Officer for the company, based in New York, during which time he oversaw the development and deployment of an integrated suite of global talent management and development practices. During his tenure the company was designated as a Fortune top global company for leaders. Between 2005 and 2010, he was Chief HR Officer for PepsiCo’s Europe sector, based in Geneva overseeing a period of significant top and bottom line growth delivered through geographic and portfolio expansion.
David holds Bachelors and Masters level degrees from Stirling University in Management, Industrial Relations and Warwick University Business School in Business Administration.
