Ugly animals are missing out on donations to protect them from extinction
Uglier animals are receiving less donations and support against extinction, than cuter and more well-known ones.
Diogo Veríssimois a research fellow at Georgia State University. He works at the interface between social and natural sciences, with a focus on behaviour change and evidence-based conservation. His work has taken him beyond his native Portugal to Brazil, India, São Tomé and Príncipe, Costa Rica and Sri Lanka where he has worked on environmental education, social marketing, community-based conservation and natural resource management.
