Elisabeth Carpenter is Chief Operating Officer at Circle, responsible for overseeing global business operations, including Revenue, Marketing, and Talent. In addition to her effectiveness in driving Circle’s evolution into a globally respected brand, her leadership in establishing the company’s inspiring culture has played an integral role in furthering the company’s mission to raise global economic prosperity through the frictionless exchange of financial value.
Prior to joining Circle, Carpenter served in a variety of leadership roles at companies that harness the power of technological innovation to revolutionize industries ranging from financial services to media to nonprofit fundraising. Among her many roles, she has served as COO of Evertrue and as SVP at Brightcove, News Corporation and BSkyB.
In addition to being a Fulbright Scholar, Carpenter earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, a J.D. from Columbia Law School, and passed the NYS Bar. Outside of work, Carpenter pursues her personal passion for improving the lives of those who have been marginalized and disaffected, with a particular focus on financial inclusion, education, and food security.
