How can we reduce the risk of climate disasters?
As highlighted by the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report, urgent action is needed to reduce the impact of climate disasters.
Etienne Kechichian leads the Climate Efficient Industries work within the World Bank Group, which seeks to improve the competitiveness of manufacturing sectors through green and climate friendly policies and industry dialogue. These policies may include energy-efficient standards and labeling systems, green fiscal incentives, low-carbon zones and climate-smart technologies. He has co-authored a handbook on developing low-carbon zones, and he is currently working on two publications on the link between manufacturing competitiveness and climate-change policies, outlining incentives for climate-efficient industries.
