The silent pandemic that threatens the global economy
Non-communicable diseases such as cancer and diabetes are a silent pandemic of our own making and a real threat not only to human health but to global prosperity.
Eva-Maria Hempe is Project Manager at Global Health and Healthcare, World Economic Forum. She is a physicist by training who enjoys applying scientific thinking to a variety of different fields, especially health care management. For her PhD thesis she investigated to which extent structured engineering-type problem solving can be applied to the design of health care services. She has since joined Bain & Company, where she works mainly on a wide spectrum of health care projects, from pharma to nursing care, but is also exploring other industries, such as automotive and tech.
