The Fourth Industrial Revolution can close the digital divide. This is how
Digital access isn't enough. We need better frameworks for measuring the second digital divide in skills, security awareness and user motivations.
I have spent the last year working within The University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Future Infrastructure to develop a new framework for assessing various facets of the Digital Divide. My motivation behind the research is to determine what data is critical in evaluating both the scale and various level of the digital divide.
Furthermore, as a strategy consulting analyst, I hope that the new research offers the potential to provide a framework around which policymakers can develop strategies for improving the state of the information society within their country.
