Fernando Straface, Secretary-General and Foreign Affairs, City of Buenos Aires

Fernando Straface is since December 2015 the Secretary-General and Foreign Affairs of the City of Buenos Aires. He is one of the founders and former Executive Director (2010-2015) of CIPPEC, the top think tank in Argentina and widely recognized in Latin America. Straface is also a member of Debates International and has been a driving force for the first ever presidential debate in Argentina, held in 2015. His areas of expertise include good governance, public sector reform and civil society. He has 20 years of experience that combine both regional and international positions with a committed activity in the Argentine public policy field. Between 2003 and 2008 he acted as governance specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, leading projects in 14 countries in Latin America. Straface writes regularly in mayor newspapers in Argentina on current affairs. He received his M.A. from Harvard University (Kennedy School of Government) and a B.A. in Political Science from USAL in Argentina.
