Giannis Moschos

Community Lead, Civil Society, World Economic Forum

Giannis oversees the Forum's engagement with civil society organisations in the Humanitarian, Peace and Security; Development Innovation and Service Delivery and Trade Union portfolios.

Prior to joining the Forum he worked with civil society actors in Greece, France, Germany, Kosovo, Montenegro, Georgia and Ukraine in programme, strategy and partnership development in different thematic areas such as migrant/refugee employment, climate change and disability. Notably, he was involved as a Project Manager in “Tolocar Programme” which aimed to support civil society groups in (re)construction efforts to constitute buildings in Western Ukraine hospitable for IDPs and facilitate processes of digital fabrication and innovation as humanitarian response tools. The programme was implemented by MitOst e.V and supported by the German government through GIZ GmbH.

Previously, he worked as a Programmes and Grants Officer at John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, where he coordinated a 29 micro-grant collaborative initiative of 8 Greek grant making Foundations aiming to strengthen newly established CSOs in Greece and contributed to efforts to meet urgent needs of public hospitals in the country before and during the pandemic.

He has evaluated project proposals for the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM) and Green Ideas Greece while he was invited to participate in the European Foundation Centre’s Next Generation Programme in 2020.

He holds an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Politics & Economics from the University of Sussex. He climbs when not injured.
