My name is Hamza Tahiri and I’m a young entrepreneur in the clean-tech industry. After studying in France and Singapore, I moved to Beijing, China and worked for the French government in the renewable energy sector. While studying the solar panel industry, I noticed the unsustainable aspects of this green technology, as all manufacturing waste and end-of-life panels ended up in landfills. In order to make a positive contribution to the society and the environment, I created a startup that focuses on R&D for innovative recycling processes and collection methods in Europe. I then worked on the conception of software to manage and trace dangerous wastes, and I trained local authorities on managing these wastes securely. I am also a member of the ELEEP (Emerging Leaders in Environmental and Energy Policies) community from the Atlantic Council think tank (Washington DC).
