Hiroko Oura

Hiroko Oura joined the IMF in 2004, and held various positions including global capital markets surveillance; country economists for Asian economies such as India and Indonesia; and early warning and various financial stability analyses at the Monetary and Capital Market (MCM) department. Hiroko has participated in FSAPs to the Japan, U.S, Russian Federation, Luxembourg, and Kenya focusing on stress testing and financial stability analysis, and recently authored IMF board paper on principles and practices of macrofinancial stress testing. Since mid 2012, Hiroko joined the division in MCM working on analytical chapters of Global Financial Stability Report. Most recently, she led a GFSR analytical chapter on emerging market portfolio flows. She has Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania focusing on theoretical analysis on banking and financial crises, and BA and MA degrees in economics from the University of Tokyo.
