While China’s rebalancing will adversely affect some Asian economies, it will also open opportunities for several others.
Jaewoo Lee is Deputy Division Chief of the Regional Studies Division in the IMF’s Asia and Pacific Department. He has also worked in the IMF’s Research Department, including on the IMF’s exchange rate assessment. He was recently on leave from the IMF, working as the Chief Korea Economist for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to the Research Department, he was a desk economist for Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Prior to the IMF, he was an economics professor in the University of California at Irvine. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Seoul National University, and a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
