Historically, world trade has grown faster than world GDP. Now it's only growing at a rate equal to or below it.
Mr. Malet (53) is the Founder & CEO of Telam Global Partners (TGP), a cross-border advisory firm supporting global business expansion and market entry in infrastructure, technology and finance. The firm focuses on positioning global players for growth in EMEA, US and LATAM.
Jaime Malet is also the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain an elected pro-bono position he has held since 2002. Under this capacity, Mr. Malet is a well-known business leader in Spain, tirelessly advocating for a more competitive and internationalized business framework. The entity founded on 1917 as a part of the AmCham worldwide network, consists of a membership of around 280 companies including leading U.S. companies with a presence in Spain and many Spanish companies with a presence in the United States, most of them in the IBEX 35 index. The aggregated turnover of all AmChamSpain’s member companies in the Spanish market is over 24% of Spain’s GDP, creating more than 1 million of Spanish jobs.
Mr. Malet is a Member of the Board of Advisors – Consejo de Acción Empresarial – of CEOE (Spanish Employers Association), Member of the International Advisory Council of APCO Worldwide; Member of the Board of Advisors of Fomento del Trabajo; Member, World Economic Forum’s Expert Network; Advisor, Concordia Group; Member of the BoD of IESE Alumni (business school); Member of the Board of Trustees of the Spanish-US Council; and an Observer at the Transatlantic Business Council.
Mr. Malet received his Law Degree from the University of Barcelona, he holds an LL.M in International Law and Economics from the University of Houston and completed a Senior Management Advanced Program (PADE) at IESE Business School.
