As the Founding and Managing Partner of Peregrine Ventures, Jake Yu shapes the firm’s strategic directions and champions its mission of “Shaping Futures, One Investment at a Time.” He collaborates with global investors and partners to drive sustainable, inclusive development through impact-driven investments.

In 2024, Jake, representing Peregrine Ventures, was recognized by the United Nations as a key stakeholder in the Summit of the Future, a landmark platform uniting world leaders to tackle global challenges. Under his leadership, Peregrine Ventures has built a global portfolio, delivering clean energy solutions to millions of families and leading sustainable finance initiatives that influence trillions in assets worldwide.

Before founding Peregrine Ventures, Jake held engineering and management roles at Qualcomm, where he led global initiatives in connectivity innovation, bringing internet access to millions in marginalized communities. In 2013, he was awarded Qualcomm Hall of Fame, QualStar by then-Chairman and CEO Paul E. Jacobs.

In 2003, as a sophomore, Jake launched his first venture, delivering software services tailored for schools. He mentors emerging investors at VC University and advises impact-driven companies seeking to create a better world. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and completed executive education in Venture Capital and Private Equity at Harvard Business School.
