Based in Houston, Texas, Jason Kraynek, serves as the president for Fluor’s Production & Fuels business line, covering the upstream and downstream business sectors, responsible for operations and business development.
Prior to assuming his current position, he had global responsibility for Fluor’s Business Development & Strategy organization for the Energy & Chemicals (E&C) business group.
Mr. Kraynek also provided direct leadership over E&C’s Chemicals business line, one of four business lines under the E&C business group. Prior to moving into Fluor’s E&C management team, Mr. Kraynek was Fluor’s global lead of the Business Transformation & Innovation (BT&I) organization which partners with Fluor’s various business lines and functions to facilitate creativity, evaluate new technology, and turn ideas into implementable solutions. Fluor’s Intellectual Property Program, Fellows Program, and Professional Publications & Presentations Program (P4) reported into the BT&I group under Mr. Kraynek’s leadership.
Mr. Kraynek has held various positions since joining the company at its Southern California office in 1993. From 2002 – 2014, he was part of the Business Development & Strategy organization working in a line sales/account manager capacity for the company’s E&C business group. Additionally, he held a variety of roles in process engineering, project management, and construction in North and South America.
Active in a number of non-profit organizations, Mr. Kraynek is part of the Board of Directors for the Engineering and Construction Contractors’ (ECC) Association (three-year term) and served as the Association’s Chair in 2021-2022. While working in Fluor’s Southern California office, Mr. Kraynek was on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach (four years in total). From 2002 – 2007, Mr. Kraynek served on the National Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan.
Mr. Kraynek is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He is also a registered professional engineer in the State of California.
