The migration opportunity: Colombia's policy example to the world
Instead of treating immigration as a source of problems, Colombia has embraced arrivals from its eastern neighbours for the economic and social benefits they bring.
Juan Pío Hernández is the Executive Director of the NGO Plan País and lead team member of the Global Network of the Diaspora of Venezuela (Red Global de la Diaspora de Venezuela). He has led and participated in multiple international initiatives related to migration and diasporas (mostly focused on Venezuelan migration flows), covering issues like support networks, identity and trade relations. He is an alumni of the WEF Global Shapers community, where he previously served as curator of the Washington D.C. II Hub.
