How have low oil prices impacted energy exporters? A view from the IMF
Low oil prices have presented a challenge to oil exporters, but many economies have made a strong start in adapting, argue the authors.
Juan Treviño is a Senior Economist in the Regional Studies Division of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department. Prior to that, he spent several years in the Regional Studies Division of the IMF’s African Department, and as an Economist for a number of countries in that region.
Before joining the Fund in 2009, Mr. Treviño was Chief Economist for HSBC Mexico, after several years of work as a Senior Economist in Mexico’s Central Bank. Juan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland.
