Chief Policy & Regulatory Officer, Yoti

Julie is known internationally for driving the ethical framework development at Yoti digital identity platform and is a global leader with a proven track record of developing advanced strategic insight, impactful thought leadership, stewarding strategic opportunities, and differentiated policy positioning. Julie leads regulatory and government relations for Yoti digital identity platform; developing policy approaches for fraud prevention and safeguarding, liaising with national and sectoral trust frameworks, in conjunction with Yoti's internal and external ethics boards.

Julie is an authority in digital identity policy, ethics and governance, she represents Yoti at numerous fora including the World Economic Forum Digital Identity Innovators; techUK Public Sector, Data Ethics and Digital Identity Boards, ADA Citizens Biometric Council Oversight Board, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Digital Identity, the Sprite + Network - Security, Privacy, Identity, and Trust Engagement Network, Strategic Advisory Board of the EPSRC programme ‘INTUIT: Interaction Design for Trusted Sharing of Personal Health Data to Live Well with HIV’ and the EU SHERPA Stakeholder Board - looking at the combination of artificial intelligence and big data analytics and their impact on ethics and human rights issues.

Julie is the co-author of ‘It’s my health: a global code of practice for sharing personal health credentials’, a paper which called for collaboration and discussion about health credentials linked to verified digital identity. The paper outlines the fundamental pillars to ensure that health data is handled securely, for the intended and declared purposes, and is valid, trustworthy and an accurate representation of an individual’s health status.

As Director of Regulatory & Policy, Julie has global responsibility for shaping Yoti’s policy agenda across the digital identity innovators, future of health and future of travel programmes within the World Economic Forum. In this role Julie engages with top industry leaders, knowledge experts, civil society leaders and government figures building constructive public-private dialogue and cooperation.
