Study reveals the violence faced by migrant women across the globe
150 female migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East told researchers about the violence they face at home and on the journey to another country.
Katie Kuschminder is a Research Fellow at the Global Governance Programme, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute funded by a Rubicon Grant from The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and an affiliated researcher at Maastricht Graduate School of Governance and United Nations University-MERIT at Maastricht University. Katie’s research is in the field of international migration with a focus on irregular, transit and return migration. Her current work examines irregular migrants decision making factors in transit. Katie obtained her PhD from Maastricht University in 2014.
