Kedest is heavily engaged in every stage of development and implementation ofGrand Challenges, a family of grant programs which fosters scientific and technological innovation to solve key health problems in the developing world. She is involved on both the strategic development and execution management of Grand Challenges, ensuring that all Grand Challenges initiatives and meetings support and complement each other.
Kedest works with various stakeholders such as Program Advocacy within the foundation to help establish relationships and promote the Grand Challenges agenda with existing and prospective partners, such as co-funding partners and grantees. She assists in identifying and encouraging new Grand Challenges funding partners. She also helped shape the initialGrand Challenges Explorations (GCE) strategy and led the development and successful implementation of the GCE initiative, serving as the secretariat for a GCE steering committee.
She is an advocate ofhealth research excellence, innovation and development, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
