What smartphone data tells us about Tokyo's economy
A new model uses smartphone data to analyse the spatial variation in the economic activity of the Greater Tokyo metropolitan area.
Kentaro Nakajima is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Innovation Research, Hitotsubashi University. His research expertise covers spatial economics. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tokyo in 2008. Prior to his current position, he was formerly an Associate Professor, Endowed Chair in Regional Economy and Banking (The 77 Bank), Graduate School of Economics, Tohoku University (2008-2010), an Associate Professor at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University (2010-2011), and an Associate Professor, Graduate School of Economics, Tohoku University (2011-2017).
