How arts and culture can serve as a force for social change
Social innovators and artists are transforming society. Examples include redefining storytelling, changing stereotypes and giving a voice to the voiceless.
Linda Peterhans works with the World Economic Forum's Art and Culture team. Her role involves managing the Cultural Leaders network at the World Economic Forum. She also leads the New Narratives Lab, a year long fellowship dedicated to fostering a new and diverse generation of Cultural Leaders. Previously, she has led and developed a myriad of cultural projects in the humanitarian sector (Jordan, Egypt, Iraq). Linda is passionate about the Middle East and a strong supporter of the role the arts and cultural sector can play in driving social change. Linda also holds a Masters in Anthropology and Sociology of Development from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and the American University in Cairo, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Studies, History of Religions and Portuguese from the University of Geneva.
