Why are so many people still dying of rabies?
It's 99.9% fatal but 100% preventable. On World Rabies Day, campaigners highlight the shocking lack of vaccines in certain neglected regions.
Louise Taylor is a biological researcher with a background in tropical infectious diseases, including work on malaria, theileria and emerging diseases. Since 2006, she has worked with the Global Alliance for Rabies Control and later with its expert group, the Partners for Rabies Prevention, both dedicated to improving rabies control globally. She is currently involved in supporting the scientific outputs of GARC and the PRP, communications to the global rabies community and developing GARC’s advocacy work.
