How fintech innovation can unlock Africa’s gaming revolution

Lucy Hoffman is co-founder and chief operating officer of Carry1st, Africa’s leading publisher of mobile games. Carry1st has a proprietary payments and e-commerce platform which allows customers to acquire global content using locally-accessible payment methods. Hoffman has spent the last decade working in early-stage companies driving execution in fast-moving and uncertain environments.
Prior to Carry1st, she served as chief of staff to the CEO of the African Leadership Academy, building the continent’s most elite school network. Before that, she led operations at Nexii, a fintech startup which developed a marketplace for impact investing helping to pioneer the “social impact bond” (sold to Impact Investment Exchange). Hoffman started her career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in New York. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
