Cultural barriers to girls' education in Afghanistan are not stopping teachers from supporting pupils.
Mabruk Kabir is an Education Specialist with the World Bank's Education Global practice, where he works on primary and secondary education as well as skills development projects across South Asia. He joined the Bank in 2011, and previously worked with the Bank's Poverty Reduction and Economic Management network, a division working on growth, debt, trade, gender, and governance. Before the Bank, Mabruk worked with a number of NGOs in South Asia, in addition to embassies and the private sector.
