Matthew Salter

Independent consultant

I work as an independent consultant with financial (and other) companies to provide advice, presentations, briefings, etc in the areas of my expertise – international capital markets, asset allocation decisions, world macro-economic developments and their effect on the financial markets.

Until July 2012 I spent eight years as Head of the multi-billion dollar investment portfolio at the Bank of Israel, with a two year spell as Head of the Central Bank\'s representative office in New York. I have an in-depth knowledge of capital markets, portfolio management and investments in international financial markets across a range of asset classes. Previously, I worked at HM Treasury (UK Ministry of Finance) as a European policy expert and economics advisor, before being seconded to the European Commission in Brussels.

I have an MSc in Economics and am a CFA charter holder.
