Mikael Bäck is Corporate Officer for Ericsson’s Group Function Technology Group. Bäck brings extensive experience with working with business strategy,customers, and key technology areas including 5G to his role. As a member of the Technology Leadership Team at Ericsson, Bäck oversees strategy and business priorities for partnerships, customers, and around M&A. He also leads the company’s activities around The World Economic Forum in the areas of 4G and 5G.
Prior to his current role, Bäck served as Vice President Global Strategy and Portfolio Development for Ericsson’s Networks Business Unit, and Deputy Head of Strategy for the company.
Bäck joined Ericsson in 1990 and has since worked in multiple managerial positions touching sales, product management, business development and strategy. He also worked out of Ericsson’s Japan office and for several years led the company’s 3G business.
With over three decades of experience in the ICT industry and working with customers, Bäck is an industry expert on 5G and Internet of Things. He has spoken at premier events such as the World Economic Forum and Mobile World Congress.
Bäck has a Master of Science degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
