Miray Salman is a researcher and a Master in Public Policy Analysis candidate at UC Berkeley. She has led the implementation of multilingual online tools, focused on accessible healthcare solutions. With her expertise in sensitive data practices, Miray conducted a report for the implementation of data equity metrics across more than 150 departments of the California Office of Data and Innovation. Miray is actively involved in organizing capacity building initiatives in healthcare and technology for marginalized communities and women. Additionally, she serves as a mentor, which has further fueled her passion for promoting equity in technology, data, education, health, and research. Miray contributes her expertise to identify young changemakers as a selector for the Rise program by Rhodes Trust and Schmidt Futures. She has received the Young Leaders Bursary from Zeppelin University, the Berkeley Award from UC Berkeley and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Fellowship of the German Foundation under the patronage of the Chancellor of Germany.
