Low oil prices have presented a challenge to oil exporters, but many economies have made a strong start in adapting, argue the authors.
Neil Hickey is an Editor in the Regional Studies Division of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department. Before joining the Fund in 2015, he worked as a journalist, including in the Washington bureau of the Wall Street Journal, and a number of daily newspapers in his native Australia. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney and a Master’s degree from American University in Washington, DC.
