Nicolás Magud is a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund working on Latin American countries. Prior to that, he was a Professor of international finance at the University of Oregon , Teaching Assistant at the University of Buenos Aires and at Torcuato Di Tella University, Advisor to the Cabinet Secretariat and the Secretariat of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Argentina, and an Analyst at Citibank and the Ministry of Economy of Argentina. His research focuses on macroeconomic issues, with particular emphasis on exchange rates, capital flows, capital controls, credit booms, and fiscal policy. He has also worked on topics in international trade and income distribution.
