Panayiota Poirazi is a Research Director at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) in Greece. Her lab studies brain functions related to learning, memory and neural computations via the use of computational models. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Cyprus, and Master’s and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. She is a recipient of an EMBO Young Investigator award, an ERC Starting grant and the "Manolis Christofides" Young Cypriot Investigator award. She is a member of the Young Academy of Europe and Chair of the FENS-Kavli Network of Excellence whose aim is to promote Neuroscience research and science policy in Europe and beyond.
