Patrick Gaule is an assistant professor at CERGE-EI, a joint workplace in the field of economics of Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic. After earning a PhD degree from the Polytechnic School of Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL) in 2009, he spent three years in Boston as postdoctoral doctoral fellow at MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard University. He was also the 2010-2011 Innovation Policy and the Economy fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research interests include the economics of intellectual property, the mobility of scientists across countries, and collaboration in science.
