Petros Kusmu is an experienced management consultant in corporate strategy and advocate focused on housing, education and workforce equity. As Deloitte's Global Civil Government Specialist, Petros works to expand the firm's impact and offerings to governments globally, with a focus on Digital Government, Smart Cities and the Future of Regulation. He is also a Manager in Deloitte's Strategy & Operations consulting practice with experience in corporate and innovation strategy, operating model design and digital transformation across a range of industries in North America (e.g., financial services, healthcare, energy and resources). He was previously a member of Monitor Deloitte. Prior to Deloitte, Petros consulted and published research for the European Parliament on regulatory trade harmonization, worked in the British House of Commons and led numerous provincial and federal advocacy initiatives, including Canada’s largest student-led consulting initiative on higher education.
Petros is also an Advisor to the Hogan's Alley Society — a non-profit focused on building inclusive / affordable housing and cultural spaces for people of African descent in Metro Vancouver — and volunteers with Pathways to Education.
Petros holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics where he studied as a Chevening Scholar on a full-ride scholarship. He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Vancouver Chapter Lead for the Banff Forum and a recent Action Canada Fellow — Canada’s premier public policy and leadership fellowship. Petros is an occasional panelist on CBC's The National and News Network, where he typically provides commentary on federal politics.
