AI Procurement in a Box: Lessons in best practice from Brazil
Lessons from two case studies in Brazil highlight how AI procurement can benefit public services and the importance of developing up-to-date guidance.
Rafael Fassio holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) – in cooperation with Università degli Studi di Roma II (Italy) – and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of São Paulo (Brazil). Currently he is a PhD candidate at the same institution. Rafael is a member of the Office of the State Attorney General since 2013, where he has acquired comprehensive experience in Public Procurement by providing legal advice to the Government and its executive branch agencies. Rafael led a project focused in streamlining procurement documents that was 2015 Mario Covas Award finalist for public sector excellence and innovation. As a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, he has recently published a Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions Toolkit to address Science, Technology and Innovation-related government purchases.
