Mr. Mateo, began his professional career in 1982, working for Endesa where he became CEO Endesa Chile and Managing Director, Generation, at Endesa Latin America. He joined ACCIONA in 2010 and has played a key role in the growth and positioning of ACCIONA Energía, the world’s largest independent (global) renewable energy operator, developer and owner ex-China (14 GW of installed capacity worldwide).

Mr. Mateo holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales in Zaragoza and some MBA´s (PDG IESE, PADE INSEAD).
