The US vs Denmark: Is the Scandinavian model best for social mobility?
Research explores intergenerational mobility in the US and Denmark, and suggests a hybrid of the two models might be best.
Rasmus Landersø is a researcher at the Rockwool Foundation Research Unit, centered in Copenhagen, Denmark. He received his PhD in economics from Aarhus University in 2015. His work focuses on providing knowledge of the origins of inequality in skills and opportunity, labor market attachment and educational attainment of marginalized groups, and the determinants of human capital accumulation and criminal behavior. He has published research articles in Economic Journal and the Journal of Law and Economics among others, and was awarded the 'Young Labor Economist' prize from the European Association of Labor Economists in 2011.
