How South-East Asian countries can cooperate to enhance energy interconnectivity
With its uneven energy distribution, South-East Asia must work on its energy interconnectivity – and that means new infrastructure
Ratnesh Bedi is the President of Pacific Energy, a role he has held since 2011. He plays a leadership role in fulfilling Pacific Energy’s mission to be the world’s most innovative, low-emission, responsible natural gas companies.
Ratnesh is responsible for the development and construction of the world’s lowest-emission LNG facility, the Woodfibre LNG liquefaction plant in Squamish near Vancouver, Canada. He oversees the project teams and provides strategic direction for the entire process from design, to build and completion. This includes leadership for securing necessary permits; appointing contractors; engaging with First Nations; establishing strong community relationships; and securing the necessary financing.
At Pacific Canbriam Energy, a member of Pacific Energy, Ratnesh leads the development of an integrated natural gas supply chain that starts with Equitable Origin EO100™ certified natural gas, through Woodfibre LNG, to receiving terminals in the provinces of Jiangsu, Fujian, and Guangdong in China.
Ratnesh joined Pacific Energy as Finance Director in 2003 and was the Chief Financial Officer in APRIL, RGE’s pulp and paper company, from 2007 to 2011. A Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, he started his career in the construction and property sector in India and held senior positions at KPMG (Indonesia) and Deloitte Advisory (Indonesia). Ratnesh graduated from Delhi University with a bachelor's degree in commerce.
