Reuben Wambui is an economics and finance professional who has worked extensively on climate risk and sustainable finance. Previously, he served as the Africa Regional Lead at UNEP FI and has consulted for multiple organizations, including the World Bank, FSD Kenya, UNICEF, UNCTAD, UN PAGE and LSE Grantham Research Institute.
He has published several articles, including for the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Africa Ahead, Kenya Bankers Association Working Papers and Africa Policy Journal of Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to UNEP, he worked at Strathmore University, McKinsey & Company and Credit Suisse.
Wambui is also the founder of the Kenya Climate Directory and the Net-Zero Africa Initiative.
