Postdoctoral research at the University of Edinburgh with Professors Nicholas Turner and Sabine Flitsch before co-founding synbio company Ingenza Ltd. After eight years helping to build the company in Scotland, I relocated to Brisbane and worked at The University of Queensland before becoming an Assoc Prof then Professor at Queensland University of Technology. I was acting Head of School of Biology and Environmental Science for almost a year before joining CSIRO as the Director of the Advanced Engineering Biology Future Science Platform in October 2022.
