Saif Malhem is the founding co-chair of the AI Future Lab: the largest global lab for intergenerational collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), built by members of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community. In 2022, the AI Future Lab launched its AI manifesto at the International Telecommunication Union’s Generation Connect conference in Kigali, Rwanda.

For his leadership in AI and climate technology, Malhem was named one of Canada's Top 30 Under 30 in sustainability in 2020. He is an engineering professional with experience in Fortune 500, non-profit and start-up environments; where he served as AI innovation lead and spearheaded large-scale organizational AI transformations at ABB and Bank of Canada.

Previously, Malhem worked at the Clinton Foundation's Global and Climate initiatives. Malhem graduated from McGill University with a degree in Honours Electrical Engineer and Technological Entrepreneurship and was awarded the University's "Scarlet Key" for his leadership.

At the Global Shapers Community and with experience in AI policy and governance, Malhem led the Montreal hub's #ShapingMyCity'sFuture project working with Statistics Canada to survey Montrealers on key AI governance issues including data privacy, agency, inclusion and impact on jobs. He's also the founder and advisor for the project: “Shaping SDGs: Canadian Leadership Orienting Global Shapers Toward Agenda 2030,” having secured funding from the Canadian government SDG programme, during his tenure as the hub's head of partnerships, to create a framework for the Global Shapers Community to measure its impact against the 17 SDGs.

Malhem sits on the Global Shapers Community’s impact council and was one of the #Davos50 Global Shapers invited to attend the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in 2022.

Malhem has been a public speaker for over 10 years and has spoken at a number of international conferences including India, Germany, and Canada.
